Europe's largest live urban arts festival will once again be filling Bristol with an explosion of colour. This year's event is taking place across the May Bank Holiday weekend from 25th - 27th May across many different city locations. Upfest will be a weekend of live painting as well as interactive family areas, illustration battles, street buskers and four music stages. This year Upfest will attract over 250 of the most groundbreaking graffiti artists the world has to offer. Descending onto Southville, Bristol they will consume over two miles of the city to paint live across the weekend and create over 30,000 square foot of artwork. A selection of the biggest names in international graffiti culture will be taking to the streets of Bristol from a total of 50 countries. The international line up includes artists such as DALeast (China), Faith47 (South Africa), C215 (France), Peeta (Italy) as well as Bristol natives Turroe and Inkie. Upfest will also showcase over 450 new artworks available for sale from participating artists. Visitors will have the chance to browse beautiful original canvases with all sales contributing to keeping the festival free as well supporting the artists involved. These pieces of very affordable art, ranging from £25 to £500 means there is something to suit everyone. Upfest will be based at the Tobacco Factory and throughout North Street, Southville, Bristol on Saturday 25th May through to Monday 27th May and will be running between the hours of 11am-8pm. The festival is FREE to attend. Once again Upfest will help raise money for and awareness of The National Association for Children of Alcoholics (NACOA) who offer a confidential phone line for children effected by alcoholism with the family unit.
